Bob Urban
Bob began working with dogs when he was around 12 years of age, he’s always enjoyed dogs that worked, particularly those that hunted using their nose.
He began working in law enforcement in 1985, primarily in the field of parks & conservation and by 1997 he created their first K-9 unit with the support of his employer. Unique to the region the dogs were trained strictly for tracking/trailing missing persons. This award-winning program continued until 2005 and received recognition at the state and local level.
For the past 15 years Bob has trained both civilian and law enforcement K-9 teams in trailing & SAR work and served on the Board of the Old Dominion (VA) K-9 group. Bob has since retired but remains active in my field of endeavor.
Bob is a Life Member of The American Black and Tan Coonhound Club and has served on the Judges Education committee since 1991. In 2018 I was honored by the AKC as the Hound group Breeder of the Year.
Bob teaches trailing on Thursdays.
